Teaching

Mary fell in love with the works of Shakespeare at a young age and has been dedicated to classical text for her entire acting journey. She has been in 15 Shakespeare plays, competed at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, and has recently studied Shakespeare under Di Trevis. As a part of Young Company, she participated in Bard-a-thon, where she memorised and performed 80 Shakespeare monologues. She currently is a volunteer usher at Shakespeares Globe in London.

Mary enjoys playing violin, which she is self taught. She played in orchestras for many years, choosing to play double bass and cello, and has taken the violin on as her instrument of choice as an actor. She is also learning to play the guitar.

In June 2021, Mary trained to receive her BADC standard qualification in rapier and dagger from Independent Drama. She has done classes in Muay Thai and did a focused study on stage combat in drama school. Mary is looking forward to receiving more training in stage combat soon.

Mary has worked as a drama teacher for a few years now and is passionate about teaching young people skills through theatre. Mary has taught week long drama camps, after school clubs, and dance classes. She believes that all young people benefit from learning acting skills as it helps improve confidence, communication, and empathy. She has taught with companies such as Whizz Dance, First Stage, Aim High Academy, and YMCA Day Camp Heritage.
